our work

Farnborough International Airshow 2026

What did we achieve?

Connecting 141,580 visitors. Powering a sold-out show. Delivering an event-wide network built for scale.

As the Official AV & Networks Supplier for Farnborough International Airshow 2026, DBpixelhouse once again played a key role in delivering the technology behind one of the world’s leading aerospace events.

As well as providing our iconic LED trailers for the venue and striking AV for the exhibitors, a large part of our job was providing the event's connectivity.

With more than 25 years of experience working with the show, we combined our expertise in AV, connectivity and live event technology to deliver solutions across multiple exhibition stands, while designing, installing and managing the event-wide network infrastructure from concept through to completion.

The challenge

Engineering connectivity at scale

A sold-out event of this scale presents a unique challenge: how do you deliver reliable connectivity for thousands of people across an enormous site, while ensuring the infrastructure can handle demand at peak times?

For Farnborough International Airshow 2026, we were preparing for 141,580 trade and public visitors, many of whom would rely on WiFi throughout their time at the show.

That meant there was no room for connectivity to be an afterthought.

The network needed to provide extensive coverage across indoor and outdoor spaces, support significant numbers of simultaneous users, and remain reliable throughout the event. Achieving this required detailed planning, robust infrastructure and a highly coordinated technical operation, backed by a team with extensive experience of delivering technology at major live events.

The Solution

Expertise in action

Our team designed and delivered a network infrastructure capable of meeting the demands of a sold-out international event.

Across the showground, we deployed:

421

access points online

22,538

daily peak DHCP leases

10,290

peak concurrent WiFi users

61 km

of Cat5e cable installed

12 km

of fibre cable installed

865

on-site crew days

The 421 access points were strategically positioned across the site to provide comprehensive WiFi coverage across both indoor and outdoor areas.

Behind the scenes, our technical team continuously monitored the network, keeping a close eye on performance and availability throughout the show. This meant potential issues could be identified quickly, with experienced engineers on hand to respond whenever required.

The physical infrastructure was equally significant. With 61km of Cat5e cabling and 12km of temporary fibre installed across the site, the scale of the deployment demonstrates the level of planning and coordination required to deliver connectivity across the entire site.

Every element was considered in advance — from coverage and capacity to cable requirements and DHCP availability — allowing us to build a network designed not just to work, but to perform under pressure.

The Result

Keeping the show connected

The result was a robust network infrastructure that supported thousands of users throughout Farnborough International Airshow 2026.

At peak demand, the network supported 10,290 concurrent WiFi users, while the daily peak number of DHCP leases reached 22,538.

These figures demonstrate the scale of connectivity required across the show and the importance of designing the network with sufficient capacity to handle fluctuating demand throughout each day.

By anticipating the challenges associated with an event of this scale, we were able to build the infrastructure with capacity and resilience in mind. Coverage was carefully planned, sufficient cabling was installed, and the network was designed to accommodate the volume of users expected across the site.

For visitors, the result was simple: they could connect and get on with their day.

For DBpixelhouse, it was another opportunity to demonstrate what decades of experience, detailed planning and expert technical delivery can achieve at one of the UK's largest live events.

More than a network

Farnborough International Airshow 2026 was a showcase of what is possible when technology is planned around the demands of the event — rather than the other way around.

Our role extended far beyond installing access points and laying cable. We planned, built, monitored and managed the network infrastructure that helped provide the foundations for a successful event.

With 421 access points, 22,538 daily peak DHCP leases, 10,290 peak concurrent WiFi users, 73km of cabling and 865 crew days, the numbers tell the story of the scale.

But behind those numbers was a team of experienced technicians, engineers and event professionals working tirelessly to keep thousands of people connected.

After more than 25 years of partnership with Farnborough International Airshow, we’re proud to continue delivering the technology that helps bring this world-class event to life.
