Burghley Horse Trials
DBpixelhouse provided reliable network and IPTV solutions for Burghley Horse Trials.

the challenge
The organisers of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials selected DBpixelhouse as their key Strategic partner again in 2024, building on the relationship that has developed over the past 8 years.
Set in picturesque grounds of Burghley House Stamford, Lincolnshire. Burghley Horse Trials, one of the premier equestrian events globally attended by 170,000 people over the 4 days, required a highly efficient and reliable network solution to support a variety of complex communications and broadcasting needs. The planning and delivery of this large-scale project were crucial, and DBpixelhouse’s superb pre-event planning ensured that all requirements would be met with precision and flexibility.
The challenge involved designing and implementing a comprehensive network and IPTV solution for the multi-day event held across a large-scale venue, where the needs of thousands of attendees, exhibitors, and event staff had to be seamlessly integrated.
Site-wide internet connectivity, offering reliable Wi-Fi and hard-wired connections for event staff, tradestand areas, catering, main public areas, and payment systems.
Stable connections for event organisers and TV production companies, enabling smooth communication and broadcast capabilities.
IPTV setup to broadcast the event to TVs and LED trailers across the venue, enhancing the viewing experience for attendees.
A VOIP communication system was required for Members, event control, and security staff to ensure efficient coordination across the site.
DBpixelhouse was tasked with delivering a solution that would support these diverse needs while ensuring uninterrupted service throughout the multi-day event.

the solution
DBpixelhouse implemented a comprehensive and highly reliable network infrastructure, encompassing both wired and wireless solutions across the entire site.
A combination of Wi-Fi access points and hard-wired Ethernet drops was strategically deployed across key locations, including tradestand areas, main public zones, and essential spaces. This ensured robust, high-speed internet for thousands of attendees, exhibitors, and event staff.
DBpixelhouse installed a full IPTV broadcast solution that seamlessly fed live content to all TVs across site as well as LED trailers positioned throughout the site. This allowed spectators to stay informed and enjoy live event coverage, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
To enable effective communication between key event personnel, DBpixelhouse deployed a secure VOIP system for both event staff, event control staff and security teams. This system supported internal calls, allowing for quick responses and coordination between staff members, regardless of location within the event site.
Given the large scale and high stakes of the event, DBpixelhouse built a network with built-in redundancy to minimise the risk of downtime. This scalability ensured the infrastructure could handle both expected and unexpected peaks in traffic.

the result
The implementation of DBpixelhouse’s network and IPTV solution contributed to the smooth operation of Burghley Horse Trials, providing a seamless and connected experience for all stakeholders involved.
Attendees, exhibitors, and organisers experienced minimal interruptions, thanks to the robust Wi-Fi coverage and stable wired connections throughout the venue. This enabled everything from payment transactions at tradestands to event staff connectivity.
The IPTV solution, which broadcasted live footage of the event to our TVs and LED trailers, gave spectators a unique and immersive viewing experience, allowing them to stay up-to-date with all the action across the venue.
TV production companies were able to rely on DBpixelhouse’s infrastructure to capture and broadcast the event without technical hitches.
DBpixelhouse’s expertise in delivering a complex network and IPTV solution ensured the success of the Burghley Horse Trials 2024, meeting both the technical requirements and expectations of the organisers, exhibitors, and spectators.
